Follow Goose As He Finds His Calm

Watch Goose as he grows from an overly excitable pup to a well-mannered dog — with patience, love, and countless hours of guiding him through triggers and helping him find his off switch.

We record every walk and interaction that can trigger Goose and turn him into a mouthy maniac. Over time, I hope to better understand how to manage his behavior and successfully teach him how to self regulate so he has fewer outbursts and can be trusted in every situation.

Meet Goose

He's a lovable goof ball that I thought would be easy to raise... but around his 4 month mark I realized he struggles with overexcitement that can tip into frustration, overstimulation and excessive mouthing.

My hope is that, with love, patience, and consistent guidance, he’ll learn to manage that energy — and one day become a role model for dogs like him who don’t always get a chance because they’re challenging to work with.

Learning Together Through the Messy Parts

I am not a professional trainer and this is not a polished vlog edited to show only the successes of dog training. This is one guy's account of raising a puppy that has issues grow into a dog that can help other dogs and people learn through real life examples.

We will make lots of mistakes and it won't be perfect — but that's part of learning. Goose and I hope through our mistakes and eventual successes others will be able to learn from us or at the very least not feel alone if their dog isn't perfect.
